It's difficult to see those we love pass through the veil of death, and even more challenging when they leave us so swiftly that there is no time to say a goodbye. Perhaps it's because "they" clearly understand that this is not the end, but rather the beginning of an everlasting relationship. In this life, we never fully recover from the pain that death creates, but I choose to believe that the fond memories linger on to testify of their infinite love. Memorial Day is just another reminder that time and distance can not rob us of the joyous memories left behind or the promises of an eternity.
Often times we hear the familiar words, "they are never far away" and on many occasions I have heard the quiet whispers of inspiration from my loved ones, who have passed beyond the realms of this life.
Memorial Day is the time to reflect, the time for gratitude and the time to rejoice, for God's plan is to, one day, reunite us with those we cherish and hold so dear. By Linda Sumner Urza, written for, One fine day.
